SILVERBALL RUMBLE

MAIN PINBALL TOURNAMENT

The Silverball Rumble takes place April 11th-13th at the Pintastic New England Show in Marlborough MA at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel. Qualifying begins at 6:00 PM Thursday this year!

When:  April 11-13th, 2024

  • Registration: Advance or at the door, with no cap on number of players
  • Tournament Start: 6:00 PM Thursday

Where: Main tournament room

Event is part of the Stern Pro Circuit and IFPA Certified + with a 240% WPPR value for 2024.

This will be an Unlimited Card based format, with 5 games per card. The bank of games chosen for the event can be seen on the Games List page: look for the titles marked with the trophy icon.

Each entry will be $20 and consist of 5 games you choose from the bank. Your scores on the games will be ranked against other players scores and a point value will be awarded.

40 players will qualify for finals: 24 players in A division and 16 players in B division. All finalists will receive a cash prize along with a Pintastic New England pint glass and Silverball Rumble enamel key chain. There will be trophies for the top 3 in each division.

Finals will be a head-to-head single elimination bracket taking place on Saturday, April 13th at 3:00 PM. Finals will be streamed at twitch.tv/backhandpinball

As in the past, Juniors will also be tracked for Juniors standings as well as the main standings, and trophies will be handed out for the top 3 junior scores.

SILVERBELLE BRAWL

WOMEN'S PINBALL TOURNAMENT

The Belles and Chimes of New England bring you the Fifth Annual SilverBelle Brawl at Pintastic New England, in partnership with the Southern New Hampshire and Western Mass Pinball Clubs on Sunday, April 14th, 2024 at 10:00 AM ET.

When: Sunday, April 14th, 2024

  • Registration: Required; on-site starts at 9:30 AM
  • Tournament Start: 10:00 AM

Where: Belles & Chimes Club Room

Players will compete in a Target Matchplay pinball tournament on games provided by the Belles and Chimes and other pinball clubs. Join us for camaraderie, competition, IFPA Women’s Division WPPR points, with cash prizes and trophies to be awarded to the top four players.

Show Entry: A pass to the Pintastic New England show will be required to gain entry to the tournament area of the venue. Passes can be purchased at the venue Box Office or purchased in advance at PintasticNewEngland.com.

Tournament Entry: $20 Cash in person, which goes towards prize payout, trophies, and IFPA fees.

Qualifications: This event is open to all cis and trans women, as well as nonbinary players who are comfortable in a space that centers on the experiences of women. Compliance with CDC Covid-19 safety measures is required and masks recommended. You will need to provide your IFPA number, if you have one, which can be found at ifpapinball.com, and an email address for event communication. Membership in a Belles & Chimes Facebook group or a Facebook account are not required.

IV. Format

Target Matchplay: Players will compete in groups of three or four, where one point is awarded for each opponent beat, scoring 3,2,1,0 points per round.

Finals: When eight players reach 12 wins, or at 1:30 PM ET, whichever comes first. Shortly after qualifying ends, the top eight competitors will play in group elimination finals to determine first through eighth place. If any qualified player is not present, without any notice to tournament officials, their spot shall be forfeited and given to the next player who qualified and is present.

Ties for Finals Qualifying: In such case that any players reach the target in the same round, a single game tie breaker will be played, game chosen at random.

Extra Balls: A player must plunge their extra ball. They will be allowed to use flipper buttons to set up any lane change etc. for a skill shot but once the ball has been plunged they must walk away. Any player who steps up to a machine and plunges another player’s extra ball will be disqualified for that game.

Practice: Players may warmup on games prior to tournament start and are encouraged to visit the club rooms during Pintastic beforehand. Once the tournament has begun, practice between rounds is not permitted, both on tournament and non-tournament games.

Game Malfunctions and Rulings: Any other rulings or game issues that arise and are not covered explicitly in these rules will referred to in the latest version of the combined IFPA/PAPA ruleset located at: https://www.ifpapinball.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/PAPA_IFPA-Complete-Competition-Rules-2023.09.pdf

Awards: Following the final matches, an awards ceremony will happen and prizes and trophies will be handed out.

Prizes: IFPA Women’s Division WPPR points for all IFPA registered players. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to the four finalists.

Player Limits: The SilverBelle Brawl will be limited to 60 players. There will be 50 pre-registered spots, beginning on Saturday, March 16, and 10 spots available to sign up in-person the morning of the event.

Pre-Registration: all available spots were claimed on March 16th.

In-Person Registration: There will be 10 in-person spots available to sign up for on the morning of the tournament, more if pre-registered spots are vacated. In-person registration will open no later than 9:30 AM on Sunday, April 14th. Spots will be filled in order of arrival at the entrance of the Belles & Chimes Club Room at Pintastic New England. Come early to secure a position in the queue for in-person registration. If any pre-registered player is not present, without any notice to tournament officials, their spot shall be forfeited and given to the next player who is present.

THE PLUNGE

The Plunge will take place in the Western Mass Pinball Club and Southern New Hampshire Pinball Club rooms at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 11th.  Check-in begins 6 PM. Advanced registration is required. The entry fee is $50.00.

When registration fills up (120), a waiting list will be started. Ticketed entry to Pintastic New England is required.

This will be a 3 strike group matchplay knockout. Players will be assigned into groups of 4 and given a machine chosen by the software. After your game is played, the players who finished in 3rd and 4th will receive a strike. In a 3 player group, 2nd and 3rd place will receive a strike. Once all games have been finished, new groups will be made with new machine selections. Once a player has received 3 strikes, they are eliminated. Play continues until one player is left without 3 strikes.

Trophies will be handed out to the top 3 finishers. The top 8 players will receive a cash payout. Prizes listed in percentages as listed below.

BELLES AND CHIMES HAPPY HOUR TOURNAMENT

Midnight Madness will take place in the Western Mass Pinball Club and Southern New Hampshire Pinball Club rooms at Midnight Friday April 12th (12:00 AM April 13th).

When: Friday, April 12th, 2024

  • Registration: First 96
  • Tournament Start: 11:00 PM

Where: Western Mass Pinball Club and Southern New Hampshire Pinball Club rooms

This will be a 1 strike group matchplay knockout. Players will be assigned into groups of 4 and given a machine chosen by the software. After your game is played, the players who finished in 3rd and 4th will receive a strike and be eliminated. In a 3 player group, 2nd and 3rd place will receive a strike and be eliminated. Once all games have been finished, new groups will be made with new machine selections. Play continues until one player is left without a strike.

FRIENDLY FLIPS BEGINNERS TOURNAMENT

Hosted by Southern NH Pinball Club

On Saturday afternoon at 3:00, there will be a (non-IFPA) tournament for people who have little or no experience playing in pinball tournaments. This contest will be assisted by many friendly coaches. If you have felt that it is hard to get started in competitive play, but want to try, you are encouraged to attend the seminar at 2:00 Saturday in the Seminar Room, then try this tournament. More details will be posted here later. Registration for this tournament will take place in the SNHPC Club Room.

KIDS PINBALL TOURNAMENTS

Hosted by Project Pinball

On Saturday afternoon at 1:00, there will be a tournament for youth born after April 13, 2012 but before April 14, 2015 (in other words, ages 9-11 on that day). Entries are free, but there is a limit of 3 entries. Only the highest score by a person will count. This tournament will take place in the Kid Zone.
